Founded in 1971, the Skipton & Craven History Society exists to foster curiosity, connection, and community around every facet of local history.

Driven by enthusiasm rather than exclusivity, we welcome anyone with a genuine interest in history: students, researchers, families, and anyone intrigued by the stories that shaped our local region.

• Fortnightly lectures from October to April, featuring expert speakers and member contributions on topics ranging from archaeological discoveries to local biographies and industrial heritage. Meetings take place at the Swadford Street Centre, Skipton.
